We're hiring!
We're seeking individuals to farm with us for the 2020 growing season. We value positive, hard-working, passionate people who enjoy being a member of a team.

We're hiring seasonal crew members to work directly with local organic farmers to produce healthy food while learning many aspects of local agricultural production. Duties may include both on and off-farm responsibilities, and full time and part-time roles available. Previous outdoor work experience is preferred but not required. Position begins in early May and ends in mid-November.

To learn more about the positions, please visit our website. If you are interested in applying for a position with us, please send your resume and a letter of interest to jen@prairiewindfamilyfarm.com. A farm visit/interview is required by all applicants. No phone calls, please.

Farm Journal
Good morning from the farm!

Despite the impending snowy weather, we're ramping up to spring around the farm!

Arlet and Abbey set up the greenhouse this week for seeding. They careful sorted through this year's seeds to ensure everything was organized while Tyler brought in huge bags of soil for seeding. Meanwhile, Jeff repaired heaters to make sure our seedlings will stay warm no matter the outdoor temperatures. Then, the team started seeding for the 2020 growing season and within a week or so, we'll see the tiny growth emerging! We'll continue to monitor this growth closely as we transition our hoophouses from winter to freshly prepared spring beds, ready for planting. Even with unpredictable weather, we prepare as much as we can now so we can stay flexible and nimble enough to everything (and everyone!) grow throughout the season.

Speaking of spring, please save the date! The Annual Spring Plant Sale at the Prairie Crossing Farm will take place Saturday, May 16th from 10am-2pm. This annual sale is a great way to kickoff the planting season, grab organic plants (and growing tips) for your home garden and spend an afternoon at the farm.
Until then, enjoy this week's winter harvest and preserved summer bounty!
